Man Killed in Overnight ATV Crash in Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ga. – A man was found dead early Thursday morning following an ATV crash in Hart County, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded just after midnight on December 19, 2025, to a report of a missing person in the area of Jud Cole Road. Family members told authorities the man had left the residence several hours earlier riding a four-wheeler and had not returned.

While searching the surrounding area, deputies located an overturned four-wheeler on Baileys Garage Road behind Flat Shoals Church. The man was found deceased near the vehicle.

Hart County Emergency Medical Services and the Hart County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. The Georgia State Patrol is assisting with the crash investigation.

The incident remains under investigation. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of all family members.

Sheriff Chris Carroll expressed condolences to the family during this difficult time.
